All right. The NewsTin blog is up.

What you can expect from us here is information on NewsTin product features, country editions/language support, any issues and future plans. And of course we hope to hear feedback from everyone willing to share their experience with using NewsTin.

Perhaps this is a good moment to look back a little. The NewsTin project has been started in mid-2005. These were the main dates (I hope I can still get them right):

- summer 2005: initial thoughts and research into multilingual news aggregation

- fall 2005: NewsTin fundamentals in place (on paper)

- spring 2006: in-house NewsTin application testing

- August 2006: very, very early NewsTin beta with just English language support

- Fall 2006: adding German, French, Spanish, Italian

- Winter 2007: getting first round of financing; adding Russian and Czech

- Spring 2007: improving scalability and response times; adding Arabic, Chinese and Portuguese

The next post will provide a summary of currently supported features by NewsTin.
